Nerd Whisperer & Owner of AppaInk Copywriting
My life as a writer began at age 10 when I filled up composition books with stories – organized by chapter – because I was never a short story kinda gal.
A fascination with graphic design and creative copy led me to become an advertising major in college, but my inclination toward longer-form writing eventually steered me to the School of Journalism at The University of Texas at Austin. After graduation I honed my writing skills as a magazine feature writer and daily newspaper reporter before joining the marketing department of an environmental engineering firm. It was there I learned how to combine my fact-based, deadline-driven journalistic writing skills with the ability to craft messaging about technical subjects that resonates with non-technical prospects.
I launched AppaInk Copywriting in 2010 to focus exclusively on working with B2B companies to craft compelling content that converts. I relish working with forward-thinking software, healthcare and professional services companies that are leveraging data and technology to bring old-school processes to the next level. I describe myself as the "Nerd Whisperer" because I help SMEs and other nerds communicate complex ideas. In my role I get to uncover what differentiates my clients from the competition and translate that into messaging that positions them has trusted advisors and educates prospects as they move through the buyer journey.
When I’m not writing I enjoy running (it's really more of a walk/jog), reading, and spending time outdoors with my family.
